Nevertheless, you can now encounter much spectacular wildlife walking around the plains just outside Melbourne at the Werribee Open Range Zoo park.

Included as part of your entrance fee is a 40 mins safari tour where you will see rhinoceros, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes grazing together on the stunning savannah.

Lots of coaches and time slots are readily available every day.

The special 4 wheel drive Safari Coach and expert guides will get you so close to the wildlife you would be forgiven for thinking you are on the great wildlife migration.

Plenty of picnic areas with tables and lush green grass to relish your meals while you’re watching children running nearby. Lots of things to do and see, a little busy after 11 am till 1 pm, however, settles down later. If you are on a budget, carry your own snack food items and meal, otherwise, there is a beautiful Meerkat Bistro located near the Zoo gift shop at the entrance. 

For a group of 10 or more, you can even pre-order your lunch and collect them through the Zoo park bakery

Specifically, Zoo Family Pass is worth it if you’re going a few times in the year. Membership will even cover unlimited entry to all three parks Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Bird Sanctuary, and Werribee Open Range Zoo. 

An overnight sleepover stay at open range Werribee Zoo with the animals sound at twilight and night is an awesome experience
